My older dog is arthritic and had been having trouble getting around. The vet described the standard treatment and also offered laser treatment. It seemed to help but was rather expensive. I did research and discovered this item. The cost of this is less than one laser treatment. Of course, this has less power than the vet’s, but it works. My dog will even come to me and ask me to use the laser on her joints. Her movement is noticeably better after a few minutes treatment.
There are a lot of red light devices on the market these days. Most are in the form factor of a lamp but this one is a portable handheld device which I find very convenient for travel or use in bed. It is rechargeable so you don't have to worry about a cord while using it. It has 12 650nm LEDs and 2 808nm LEDs. Now most of these devices advertise 850nm LEDs and I was curious about the difference so I read some articles. It turns out that deep therapy LEDs of this nature vary from about 800 - 860nm, with 808 being almost optimum for deep penetration. This device has a simple on/off button to turn it on. You have to press it once to wake up the LED screen and then again to turn it on. The device counts down from 5 minutes and then turns off. The Time button can vary that in 5 minute increments up to 30 minutes. The device is lightweight and ideal for travel.I use red light lamps to help with my tendonitis between my thumb and forefinger. When it hurts, I give it 20-30 minutes of one of these lights and it helps. I've used this one similarly and the light from this handheld lamp feels really great on that area. It doesn't feel warm at first but when you train it on a body part, you feel the heat penetration pretty quickly. The only question with a handheld device is how long you can hold it without your arm getting tired. This device is packaged really well. It comes in a zipper-closure travel case that holds the device, a charging cord and AC adapter, eye protection glasses, and a cleaning cloth. Very good operating instructions are included along with a set of tips on use for various body parts. This is a well-built device and if you'd like a handheld red light therapy device, this one is worth a look.
My 13yr old 60pd. Dog is doing much better! Has helped his ears and surgery entry.
This is a nice compact light therapy device. It comes in a very sturdy and roomy zipped case, a charger, and black glasses. The device is really lightweight with this nice handle. The timer works perfectly and there is a soft beep when it's done. I have really unresponsive pain and hadn't noticed a difference in that yet but I also hope that it helps detoxing. I use it at a low level because I'm so sensitive and maybe if I used it longer I'd see a noticeable difference.
Great product.
Does a great job relieving tension
I was having such achy joints and I placed this on my thigh and it took away the pain
